  • Enjoy an orientation tour of Seville, one of the great cities of the world. Seville has a blending of cultures and architectural styles - it was originally founded as a Roman city then controlled by the Visigoths, Moors, Castilians, and the Spanish

DAY 3: SEVILLE

  • Breakfast daily
  • Enjoy a guided city tour of Seville, the jewel in Southern Spain’s crown. A feast of sights await you here including the Plaza de España, the Giralda bell tower of the Seville Cathedral with its fascinating history, and the Torre del Oro known as the tower of gold despite its past as a military watchtower and prison during the Middle Ages
  • Visit the breathtaking Royal Alcazar still used as the palace of Spain’s royal family when in the region

DAY 4: SEVILLE, ALGARVE COAST, AND HUELVA

  • Time to explore Seville
  • Travel to Portugal, traversing the Algarve, an enchanting mix of the blue Mediterranean Sea, golden beaches, limestone cliffs and charming fishing villages
  • Arrive in Huelva, known for its Christopher Columbus sites. See the Moguer, Palos de la Frontera, and the Rábida Monastery, where Columbus sought the aid of Franciscan brothers to assist in advancing his project of discovery
  • Check into hotel

DAY 5: FARO

  • Enjoy a guided walking tour of Faro, the capital of southern Portugal’s Algarve region. One of the features of the tour is seeing the city’s neoclassical Arco da Vila which was built on part of the original Moorish wall. This monumental archway leads to the old town with cobbled streets and the Faro Cathedral built in the 13th century

DAY 6: LISBON

  • Travel to Lisbon
  • En route to Lisbon, visit Santarém, one of the oldest cities in the world. Walk through its narrow streets to the Church of St. Stephen, containing the oldest recorded Eucharistic miracle
  • Enjoy an orientation tour of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal
  • Check into hotel
  • Overnight Lisbon

DAY 7: LISBON

  • Enjoy a guided tour of Lisbon including seeing the Belém Tower, a 16th-century fortification that served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon
  • Walk through the Alfama district, with its delightful maze of narrow cobbled streets and ancient houses

  • Visit the famous Alhambra. The beautiful Calat Alhambra (Red Castle) was built in 889 AD and stands at the top of a wooded hill commanding views of the town, the Sacromonte Heights, and nearby hillsides gardens of the Generalife

DAY 6: GRANADA, ALGARVE COAST, AND FARO

  • Enjoy time to explore Granada
