An Invitation to Barcelona
Join me and other choristers for our 2025 Festival in Barcelona, Spain.
Barcelona is such a great destination for culture, architecture, food, history and promenading. There are many splendid venues for individual concerts as well as the Gala Concert. The Montserrat Abbey is about a 60-minute drive away and ensembles can choose to extend their visits for instance to Madrid (with a visit to Toledo) or even to the South of France.
There will be opportunities for individual performances and of course we will also come together as a combined festival choir under my direction. I will select about 30 minutes of combined literature which we will rehearse three times before combining with all the force and magic the joining of many voices brings.

MONDAY, JUNE 30: BARCELONA
- Breakfast daily
- Enjoy a walking tour of Barcelona’s famed Gothic Quarter and promenade on Las Ramblas, soaking in the sounds and sights of this exceptional city
- Festival rehearsal with Rollo Dilworth - touring option provided for non-singers
- Festival welcome dinner
- Overnight Barcelona
TUESDAY, JULY 1: BARCELONA
- Experience the breathtaking La Sagrada Familia, marveling at the exterior iconography and touring inside, with a possible opportunity for a brief recital
- Festival rehearsal with Rollo Dilworth - touring option provided for non-singers
- Overnight Barcelona
WEDNESDAY, JULY 2: BARCELONA
- Festival dress rehearsal with Rollo Dilworth
- Enjoy some time to explore the Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas area, perhaps finding lunch in the market or in one of the many cafes dotting this precinct
- Gala festival concert conducted by Rollo Dilworth
- Overnight Barcelona
THURSDAY, JULY 3: MONTSERRAT ABBEY
- Travel to Montserrat
- See the famed Montserrat Abbey, dating from the 10th century and perched high on the side of Montserrat mountain
- Return to Barcelona
- Optional individual concert (tbd)
- Overnight Barcelona
FRIDAY, JULY 4: DEPART
- Transfer to the Barcelona airport and begin your journey home

- Discover Madrid’s historic sites on a walking tour of the city. Visit the Plaza de Colón and pass by the Royal Palace, still a working palace for the Spanish royal family
- Check into hotel
- Overnight Madrid
SATURDAY, JULY 5: TOLEDO
- Enjoy a day trip to Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Tour the 16th century Alcázar fortress
- Return to Madrid
- Optional final concert (tbd)
- Farewell dinner
- Overnight Madrid
SUNDAY, JULY 6: DEPART
- Transfer to the airport to begin your journey home
