• Orientation tour of San José, the capital of Costa Rica

DAY 2: SAN JOSE

• Breakfast daily
• Enjoy a guided tour of San José. Vibrant and packed with Victorian mansions, San Jose sits in the beautiful Central Valley region with the Talamanca Mountains to the south and volcanoes to the north. The city is distinguished by its Spanish colonial buildings, like the ornate, neoclassical National Theatre of Costa Rica overlooking downtown’s Plaza de la Cultura, a popular gathering spot
• Visit the Central Market and tour the National Theatre, which opened in 1897 and is considered the finest historic building in San José

DAY 3: LA PAZ WATERFALL GARDENS | ARENAL

• Visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park, an ecological sanctuary featuring five waterfalls, lush gardens, hiking trails, a butterfly observatory and a hummingbird garden. See a variety of flora and fauna including toucans, jungle cats, and monkeys
• Concert
• Transfer to Arenal
• Check into hotel
• Overnight Arenal

DAY 4: ARENAL

• Sing Mass and perform a recital at a local church (if this falls on a Sunday tbd)
• Enjoy hiking in Arenal Volcano National Park, home to two volcanoes – the 5,357 ft. Arenal Volcano and the 3,740 ft. Chato Volcano. The latter has been inactive for nearly 3,500 years and has a collapsed crater that contains a picture-perfect lagoon
• Overnight Arenal

DAY 5: ARENAL

• Interact with students at a local rural school and learn about their culture and traditions. Enjoy a folkloric dance performance in traditional clothes and a short Costa Rican cooking class
• Perform for the Arenal students (tbd)
• Visit a farm to discover the process of turning seeds into delicious chocolate and coffee
• Overnight Arenal

DAY 6: PUNTA LEONA

• Transfer to Punta Leona
• Visit the Guacalillo Estuary and enjoy a boat ride through an extensive mangrove ecosystem, viewing crocodiles and a variety of birds
• Check into hotel
• Overnight Punta Leona

DAY 7: PUNTA LEONA

• Visit a rainforest on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica at Carara National Park. Witness fascinating wildlife including the scarlet macaw that nests and feeds throughout this biological reserve
• Enjoy time savoring Costa Rica's pristine beaches adjacent to the hotel
• Farewell dinner
• Overnight Punta Leona
